I grew up in a small town in south-central Utah and am the youngest of eight children. Both of my parents are professional educators, though my mom chose to stay home and raise the children once my oldest sibling was born. 

If you've explored my site to this point, then you know I have had my share of ups and downs along the way. I am grateful to be where I am today, doing what I do, and spending my life with friends, family, colleagues, and many others.

Despite my addiction to working late nights, I do have a life beyond my career highlighted by an amazing family, a food-fetish obsession with cooking (especially BBQ), an active religious lifestyle, and a borderline unhealthy devotion to the Buffalo Bills and Houston Astros.
